Education:
I received my bachelors degree in Sociology from UC Berkeley and currently hold a National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Training Certification along with a CrossFit Certification. I am CPR and First Aid Certified through the American Red Cross. I have placed 3rd place overall in the Oakland Marathon, completed an Ironman Triathlon, as well as placed in other local competitions.
Experience:
As a personal trainer with over a decade of experience, I specialize in building custom fitness programs for my clients that are attainable and sustainable and therefore help them achieve their fitness and wellness goals. I have experience in strength training, mobility training, injury prevention, body composition changes (fat loss/muscle gain), and endurance training.
Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse clients of all ages and backgrounds from 10 years old to 90 years old. From helping busy parents get back into shape after years of inactivity and added stress to working with clients who are battling autoimmune diseases and other health disorders, I’ve helped clients get stronger, fitter, and healthier.
Whether you’re aiming for muscle gain, weight loss, athletic performance, or general well-being, I will help you develop a sustainable path toward success by using a science-based individual approach that combines all facets of wellness: physical activity, nutrition, and mental health.
Personal Philosophy:
Years ago, I heard a trainer named Peter Twist describe my fitness philosophy “We don’t crush people. Life crushes them and we lift them up.” A decade later, I’m a parent and know the value of not only making fitness fun but also finding ways to build it into your life even when life gets messy. My goal as your trainer is to work with you to discover what type of training brings you joy and help you build that into your fitness routine so that you can stick with it for a lifetime.
Interests: What brings me joy personally is pushing my daughter and sometimes tired pup around in my neighborhood, playing with my daughter at the park, and working out in my garage. I love finding new healthy recipes to cook for my family using whole food ingredients that taste amazing and are satisfying. I can’t wait to help you find your joy while building a custom fitness program together!
